Previous MFL Courses
Our MFL courses are all brand new, so we haven't got any photographs or feedback comments.
However, here are some testimonials for MFL Subject Tutor David Pope
The first is from David's school's Inspection Report in September 05:
"Teaching is ... very good, ... imaginative and
creative. The target language is used appropriately, as in ... a Year 10 lesson
in Spanish where boys learnt how to describe different states of health."
Needless to say, that was one of David's lessons! Next, from an NQT who
was unsure that he had made the right career choice. He went on to be a
successful Modern Languages teacher elsewhere though:
"Dear David, Thanks so much for all the advice and
encouragement. Much appreciated! Richard"
And from David's headmaster, Mark Turner:
"Dear David, Last Friday's Careers Convention was a
really splendid event. Many thanks indeed on behalf of all the boys who
attended for giving them such a wonderful opportunity. I know much of this was
down to your contribution. Yours sincerely. Mark Turne
or after he acted the part of a 19th century schoolmaster in
2003:
"Dear David...Congratulations for an outstanding
contribution to World Heritage Day in Abingdon. Plaudits have come in from all
directions and I would like to thank you and your team of boys for putting on
such an excellent re-enactment of 1850's life. Your ferocious visage even
greeted me as I thumbed my paper this morning - excellent! Well done indeed,
Yours sincerely, Mark Turner"
And lastly, from an outgoing sixth former in the year David
introduced Spanish to Abingdon:
"Señor Pope, Muchas gracias por toda la ayuda me has
dado durante mi tiempo aquí en Abingdon. Estoy tanto agradecido haber tenido la
oportunidad de aprender esta lengua y te doy las gracias.
(Dear Mr Pope, Many thanks for all the help you have
given me during my time here at Abingdon School. I
am so grateful to have had the chance to learn this language and owe you my
thanks.)
