AR02
Creative things to do with cheap materials
The budget for buying affordable materials and resources for the Art and DT Department is never
enough, and you are always having to work with less, and produce more!
This one day workshop explores a range of creative approaches to using low budget, scrap materials
from a regional Scrapstore. With sustainability, environmental awareness and recycling a high priority
on all school curriculum agendas, this course is a must!
The 2008 dates and venues have yet to be finalised for this course.

Objectives
Come along and see how to turn everyday objects into fantastic Art and DT ideas, and get the
creativity buzzing amongst the students at your school. This is an entirely 'sleeves up' practical
workshop, exploring a number of techniques for working with a fantastic range of Scrapstore materials
including: straws, card, wool, foil, fabric, cork, foam, plastic, netting, wire, cut outs, cut offs
and end of lines! Spend the day experimenting with a wide range of inexpensive materials, gain new
skills, make new friends, and create samples that can be used as exemplars back in the classroom.
